Building on the success of other sold-out workshops led by seasoned alliance executives this course further develops the core skills of alliance management, regardless of industry, while providing exposure to experience and learnings of the workshop facilitators.
This course focuses on Value Inflection Points (VIPs), one of the central concepts and tools for an alliance manager. An "AM-VIP" is a place—time, part of the organization, work plan step, etc.—where if an alliance manager spends more focused energy, they will reap the best return on their time and effort. The concept helps alliance managers prioritize and focus on what really matters to alliance success. One element that permeates many of these AM-VIPs has to do with human risk. Having access to a very talented clinically and forensically trained PhD-level psychologist pays off in this course, as the attendees will learn to improve their human-risk management skills from a certified expert in the field. In addition, they will acquire and practice real-life techniques to manage AM-VIP challenges.
This workshop is presented from the perspective of common human behavior while featuring an advanced case study approach in which attendees will explore:
- Common and unique techniques for maximizing alliance value from the start-up, steady state, and wind-down phases of an alliance
- Key value inflection points like dispute management and alliance relaunch
Instructors will guide the case debriefs based on their expertise in managing human risk, business risk, and legal uncertainties.
